Ms. Madhu Krishna, Consultant, BMGF (Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation) and Ms. Kristen Grote from the Foundation’s Seattle based Agriculture team visited Anand on November 28, 2007. The purpose of the visit was to learn about the Amul model and its successful market linkages. They visited Amul Dairy and Museum, IRMA, Tribhuvandas Foundation and GCMMF. They held wide ranging discussions with GCMMF Managing Director, Shri B. M. Vyas.

The achievement of the dairy cooperative sector based on the Amul model and its role in empowering women impressed them very much.
