Chennai Zonal Manager Shri J Rajan and Depot-In-charge Smt Jayanthi Thanigan called on His Excellency Shri Surjit Singh Barnala, the Governor of Tamilnadu on 9th July'05, and briefed him regarding the recent activities Amul has undertaken to provide Consumers with healthy thirst quenchers. He was briefed about the launches of Kool Flavoured Milk in disposable bottles as well as in Tetra Pak packages, in 6 flavours of Kesar, Elachi, Rose, Chocolate, Strawberry and Mango, Ethnic drinks of Lassi and Buttermilk in long life Tetra Pak packages to give its consumers a nutrition filled, aseptic drink and of Kool Café cold coffee. He was informed that the purpose of these launches were, to offer a good alternative to unhygienic local drinks as well as to Colas that have been found to have negative health connotations.

His Excellency recalled the initiatives taken by Dr.V.Kurien, Chairman of GCMMF, and the architect of the White revolution in the country and how they had worked together during some years. He also lauded the efforts of launching Amul Masti Buttermilk at an affordable rate of Rs.5/pack.
