An eight-member delegation from Sikkim headed by Mrs. Kalawati Subba, the Hon'ble Minister for Animal Husbandry, Govt. of Sikkim visited Anand. The main purpose of the visit was to meet Dr. V. Kurien and have an overview of the dairy development programs being carried out by GCMMF based on the successful Amul model of dairy development.

The delegation visited a Village Dairy Co-op. Society, Amul Cheese Plant, Vidya Dairy, GCMMF and Amul Dairy Plant. After the visit, the Hon'ble Minister felt that it was very "inspirative" and a great learning experience. She said, "We are taking the message to our place"
