Visit of Oxfam Delegation

Oxfam GB is an international organization involved in long term development, humanitarian response and campaigns for securing lasting changes in the lives of the poor people. At present, Oxfam is working on restoring livelihoods in the tsunami affected regions of Sri Lanka. Dr. Steve Jennings, Global Programme Adviser - Livelihoods, Oxfam, Oxford along with Mr. David White, Programme Manager, Oxfam, Colombo and Ms. Leena Chakrabarti, South Asia Livelihoods Advisor, Oxfam, New Delhi came to Anand to study the Amul model of cooperative dairying. They had wide ranging discussions with Dr. V. Kurien, Chairman and Shri B. M. Vyas, Managing Director, GCMMF. They also visited Amul Dairy and Museum, Vidya Dairy, IRMA and a Village Dairy Co-operative Society.

After the visit they remarked that the very fruitful and informative interaction would help them to chalk out the future plan of action.
